Today we did Math! You were ALL given a copy of the notes and just had to add a little bit to them! Don't lose your copy of the notes!!!
We talked about X and Y in relation to graphing on a coordinate plane.
X is the first number in a pair and it goes sideways (+ x is right, -x is left)
Y is the 2nd number in a pair and it goes up and down (+y is up, -y is down)
Rules! When you are given a math rule, and a list of x values, you plug in each x value and get a y value. List them in a x/y table.Example: RULE: 3x+2=y and you were given x:1,2,3
you would plug in 1, 2, 3 in the rule and get a y value for each x value. so 3*1+2=5 and 3*2+2=8 etc.
