Happy Halloween!

We took a LOT of notes today--both on verbal expressions for algebra equations (Words to explain a math sentence) and on Inequalities. Please go to this link to get the notes!

For Homework:
You had to complete the little half sheet of verbal expressions

Tomorrow:
You will have a guest teacher as I have a meeting. You are meeting in the LIBRARY--at the back round tables. You will complete a worksheet, and then work on the IXL website. See the other post for directions! :)

We are taking the Unit 1 TEST tomorrow! Today we went over the review question by question and had time for additional review. The test is VERY similar to the review :)

Yesterday we played "around the room" with Unit 1 Test Review Questions. The students did fairly well.

Today:

We took a Unit 1 Practice Test. It was very hard for most students.  We will go over the Practice Test on Thursday and do some more review Questions.

All students will be allowed to use NOTES on the test. They need to have them with them as I will not be printing them the day of the test.

Test will be FRIDAY.

Learning: 

• Today we learned about LITERAL equations--we took notes, completed a venn diagram and did a comparison between literal and one variable equations 
• Then we did some practice problems and part of the worksheet

Assignment:
Do 4, 5, and 6 of the Worksheet

Upcoming:

10/20/11 and 10/21/11

Yesterday we played a memory review game to apply our knowledge of putting an answer for a variable and checking the equation.

Today we reviewed our notes (ways to solve one variable equations) and completed a guided practice worksheet. Additionally, we played the memory game again. The worksheet is due Monday--most students finished it.

Monday we will be solving literal equations, Tuesday we will play a math review game, Wednesday will be our practice test and Wednesday will be TEST CHAPTER 1!

What a good day to practice solving equations--The students played tic tac toe with equations. They were so successful in partners, it counted for a quiz grade! :)

Today we had a work day---you all got a grade update, a list of missing work and your quiz back.

You may turn in any missing work. 

Please review the quiz over the weekend and study for the retake.

Today we took a quiz. Many of you were not prepared and did not study last night. Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to seek out help and additional assistance. This blog has lots of great resources for you and the notes.

Tomorrow we will look at grades, go over missing work and prepare for the next unit.

Today we worked on a review for tomorrow's quiz. It is YOUR responsibility to be ready--We have been preparing for quite a few days. Please make sure YOU study tonight and look at the additional review sheet I gave you.

The "Additional Review" is NOT due Wednesday--However, it is similar to the quiz and I will provide you time to ask questions on it before the quiz. Please help yourself by looking at it.
