- Reviewed notes from yesterday
- Took notes on extending y=mx+b
- CLICK on notes to make them bigger!
- Practiced Slope Intercept form
- Gave examples for what you put an equation into slope intercept form
- Allows you to compare prices--such as paying a set amount per month for your cable bill and paying additional for each movie you rent through the cable company. An equation for this might look like: y=$64 + 4x where $64 is the amount you pay each month and each movie you rent costs $4 each.
- Makes it easier to graph the line on your calculator
- Allows you to quickly identify the slope (how steep the line is) and the y intercept (where the line graphed crosses the y axis)
- When looking at y=mx+b the m is the slope and the b is the y-intercept
Assignment:
- One problem--Put 4x+3y=12 into slope intercept form (y=mx+b)
Upcoming:
- Creating a social contract
- Hands on practice for slope intercept form
